	Full Description: The island of Pag is one of the largest islands in the Adriatic: covering an area of 285 km2 it is the fifth in size, and with its 270 km long, indented coast Pag has the longest coastline among the Adriatic islands, dotted with bays and coves, capes and beaches. The largest among them, Pag Bay, is encircled by 20 kilometres of pebbly beaches. Novalja, the best developed tourist centre on the island of Pag, is situated in the area of low, gently indented coasts, sheltered from the Bora and exposed to the sun, facing the vast sea area of Kvarneric. Such conditions, favourable to the growth of tourist demand, have facilitated the development of modern tourist offer. Nature has endowed this region with lovely beaches in close vicinity of the town: Zrce, Caska, Trincel, Babe, Vrtic, Strasko and Branicevica. In summer Novalja entertains a number of cultural, art, recreation and sports manifestations, to enrich its tourist offer. Among cultural events worth mentioning are the local dance Naski in richly embroidered folk costumes and close-harmony singing. The most valuable among historical sights is the ancient aqueduct from the 1st century, hewn out of live rock, long about 1.5 km and in some places deep over 40m. Tourists will enjoy a rich gastronomic offer which includes such delicacies as the Pag cheese and lamb, and seafood specialties. The island of Pag as well as Novalja are well connected to the mainland, in the north by the ferry line Prizna-Zigljen, and in the south-east by the road bridge spanning Ljubacka Vrata. For those who arrive by boat, Novalja and the surrounding tourist destinations will be easy of access, regardless of the type of boat. HOW TO GET TO CROATIA?? Croatia's thousand islands are the closest archipelago to the countries in central Europe. The Adriatic cuts so deeply into the European continent and comes so closely that the sailors from these countries often look upon the archipelago as their home waters. You can reach Croatia's nine airports - Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, Pula, Rijeka, Zadar, Mali Lošinj, Brać and Osijek - in a few hours from the destinations in Europe. If you go by car, it is easy to come to the Adriatic and to Croatia's 28 000 km of public roads. And there are no difficulties to take your car by ferry to the islands. If you want to make a voyage along the Adriatic coast and do not wish to part with your car, you can put it aboard the swift coastal liners, docking at many cities and islands on their passage to Dubrovnik. There are also regular connections with the Italian ports of Venezia, Ancona and Bari. International train connections are good; it is easy and comfortable to come to Croatia from the countries in Europe. The railway network extends over 2400 km and goes to all bigger cities with the exception of Dubrovnik. Travel by rail can easily be combined with travelling by ship or by coach.
